God’s Timing

One of the ways we serve our seafarers is through prayer. The small prayer request slips are often overlooked—-but sometimes of great importance. Earlier this winter, I made a quick announcement from the podium, stating that we consider it a privilege to pray for their concerns. A young crew member stopped me and ask how this worked. We filled out the prayer slip and eventually went into the Chapel to pray.

A volunteer (who I’d never seen before) was there reading the Bible. I asked him if he wanted to join us. After introducing himself, we discovered they were from the same city in England —- and the connection was made! He went on to ask the crew member what he thought about God and his eternal destiny. He was honest and open, listening and questioning. Basically, in less than 5 minutes, this volunteer covered the Gospel message, his need for salvation, and made sure he could find answers in the Bible! (The seafarer had been given a Bible on board— thank you faithful visiting evangelists!). We three exchanged contact information.

I was in awe how God had this divine appointment planned out and seeds were planted.
